Rainer Glatz

The Lieutenant General (ret.) Rainer Glatz, was from 2009 until 2013 the Commander Bundeswehr Joint Forces Operations Command, from 2006 until 2007 the Acting Commander of the Command and Control Unit and was also the Deputy Commander of this Unit also from 2006 until 2009.
From November 1998 until April 1999, Lieutenant General (ret.) Rainer Glatz  was stationed in Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina) as the Brigadier-General Commander of the Multinational Brigade Center (DFGFA). During his military career he served, among others, as the Chief of the personal staff  of General Helge Hansen, which was at that time a NATO Commander of Central Europe (from 1994 until 1996), as a press-advisor and speech-writer of the Inspector of the Army, Jörg Schönbohm, in the Ministry of Defence (1992) but also as personal assistant of Horst Teltschik, which at that time was Head of Unit 2 (foreign, security and development policy) in the Federal Chancellor´s Office (from 1987 until 1989).
In 1969, he joined the Bundeswehr.
